Blackberg Group

Blackberg Group is a management consulting firm specializing in strategy, operations, communications, organizational effectiveness, and digital services. At Blackberg Group, strategic prowess meets creative ingenuity to redefine the future of public service. Simultaneously, the firm embraces bold creativity—incorporating fresh perspectives into every endeavor. To reflect this mission, the firm required a brand capable of carrying both the scale and sensitivity of that mission—credible enough for institutional environments, yet modern enough to reflect the urgency of public sector change and creative solutions.

Blackberg Group engaged Therium Studio to define a brand system that could bring clarity to complexity and position the firm as a forward-moving consulting partner built for impact, not convention.

The Challenge

Blackberg Group needed to establish a clear and credible identity within a highly competitive government consulting landscape where most firms rely on interchangeable visual systems and institutional language. The brand had to feel authoritative enough for executive and procurement environments while avoiding the rigidity and familiarity that define much of the category.

At the same time, the identity needed to operate across a wide range of applications—from federal proposals and executive presentations to conferences, publications, digital platforms, and public communications—without losing coherence or strength. The system had to be both structured and flexible, capable of evolving alongside the firm’s expanding scope of work.

The Opportunity

Rather than conforming to established conventions in the sector, this engagement presented an opportunity to define Blackberg Group as a different kind of consulting partner—one that bridges deep operational expertise with modern, human-centered communication.

The goal was to build a brand that could not only operate within government systems but actively reshape how mission-driven work is understood and supported. Blackberg would stand for clarity in complexity and progress through communication.

The Strategy

Therium built the brand strategy on a single principle: effective identity exists at the intersection of audience need and organizational strength.

For Blackberg Group’s clients, the need is consistent—public missions must be understood, trusted, and advanced. Whether improving health care access for Veterans or supporting large-scale modernization efforts, the objective is to translate complex systems into clear, actionable public understanding.

Blackberg Group’s strength lies in its dual capability: deep expertise in government strategy and operations, paired with the ability to communicate through bold, modern storytelling and design. The convergence of these capabilities defines the brand—one that doesn’t simply support mission-driven work, but helps shape how it is perceived and supported.

This positioning informed both narrative and visual development. The archetype system reflects a balance of The Hero and The Creator, capturing both the responsibility of advancing a mission and the ability to shape meaning through communication.

Our creative team derived the logo system from this same idea of convergence. The mark is formed from the overlapping letters “B” and “G,” unified into a single geometric structure. At the intersection, an upward directional form emerges—an abstract expression of alignment, progress, and forward motion.

Color reinforces this idea of growth. A palette rooted in natural greens and blues establishes a sense of renewal, stability, and evolution, supported by a subtle green gradient system that adds depth and momentum across applications without disrupting the system’s restraint.

The Results

The launch of the Blackberg Group identity established a clear and differentiated presence within the public sector consulting landscape. The brand successfully balanced institutional credibility with a modern visual and verbal system, positioning the firm as a forward-looking partner in public sector transformation.

We extended the identity system into a complete suite of brand tools, including a comprehensive brand book, capability statements, presentation systems, PowerPoint templates, letterhead, business cards, and proposal materials. This approach ensured consistency across all internal and external communications while providing a scalable foundation for growth.

Across every application, the system reinforced the same core idea: Blackberg Group is built for movement—strategic, structured, and focused on advancing mission-driven work with clarity and intent.
