Milwaukee Blockchain Conference

The Milwaukee Blockchain Conference unites Wisconsin’s most forward-thinking business leaders, technologists, and entrepreneurs for a full day of education, networking, and dialogue around blockchain technology. Held at the iconic Northwestern Mutual Tower & Commons in Milwaukee, the first annual conference attracted more than 300 attendees across two dynamic programming tracks, making it one of the Midwest’s most significant blockchain events.
Therium partnered with Marquette University’s Blockchain Lab and Northwestern Mutual to design and execute a seamlessly produced, high-impact conference experience from the ground up.

The Challenge
Blockchain was rapidly moving from fringe concept to enterprise reality, but Wisconsin’s business community lacked a dedicated forum to explore its applications, risks, and opportunities. The event’s co-organizers needed a partner who could translate a complex technical subject into an accessible, engaging, and professionally produced conference experience for a diverse audience of executives, entrepreneurs, academics, and students.
Programming needed to deliver concrete value across multiple industry verticals while elevating the regional conversation around emerging technology, all within a single, high-energy day.
The Opportunity
Milwaukee had a unique opportunity to establish itself as a Midwest hub for blockchain innovation. The conference was a chance to convene 25+ expert speakers—from industry executives to startup founders—under one roof, spark meaningful cross-sector dialogue, and build a lasting community of blockchain practitioners in Wisconsin.
For Therium, the event was an opportunity to demonstrate what thoughtfully produced, content-driven conferences can achieve: institutional credibility, community momentum, and a repeatable platform for thought leadership.
The Strategy
Therium managed full-scope event production, encompassing venue coordination at the Northwestern Mutual Tower & Commons, speaker sourcing and logistics, programming architecture, day-of operations, all graphic and creative design, and the end-to-end attendee experience.
We structured programming across two parallel tracks designed to serve distinct audience segments simultaneously:
Enterprise Track
Healthcare · Banking & Financial Services · Insurance · Real Estate · Government · Manufacturing · Auditing
Entrepreneurship Track
Startup Opportunities · Crowdfunding Disruption · Smart Contracts · Blockchain-Enabled Business Models · Fundraising Innovation
The agenda combined keynote presentations, moderated panel discussions, live podcasting sessions, and structured roundtable networking. We designed this multi-format experience to keep an audience of 300+ engaged across a full eight-hour day.
